Safir Anand has been invited to chair the IP Cell of the Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU) and will work with Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for this.

MNLU is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. Hon’ble Dr. Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, Judge, Supreme Court of India is the Chancellor of the varsity who not only guides but also inspires the institution with his novel ideas and rich experience in the law field. Prof. (Dr.) Dilip, a renowned academician in law with varied experience in teaching and research, is its Vice-Chancellor.

The University has also established a number of Centres and Chairs to facilitate advanced studies and Research in specified bodies of Knowledge besides having imparted professional training to Judges, Lawyers, Police Officers, Public prosecutors, Conciliators attached to MAHA RERA, Consumer Dispute Redressal Commissions and to Mediators in the Family Courts.

The Centre for Research in Intellectual Property Laws is established with a view to promote studies and research in IP laws and policy. The Government of India; through its Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has established an IPR chair in the University which Safir will now head as its chair professor.
