Neeti specializes in protection of intellectual property, especially patents, designs and plant variety with customized planning as per client's business needs and IP management and monetization advice besides other IP areas including licensing, management, opposition, revocation and infringement. Neeti has expertise in patent searches and provides opinions on patentability, freedom to operate, landscape analysis, etc. Neeti actively represents clients before several legal authorities including Indian Patents, Designs and Trademark Office, Plant Variety Authority, National Biodiversity Authority, Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) and Courts in India.
Masters in Biotechnology and Ph.D in applied sciences (covering Genome analysis; Hybrid characterization; Assessment of Genetic Diversity and Phylogenetic Analysis) followed by a law degree and specialization in patent and plant variety gives Neeti expertise to handle life sciences and related legal issues effectively. Neeti is admitted to the Bar Council of India and the Delhi High Court Bar Association. Neeti is an active member of various professional international organizations including International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), Licensing Executives Society (LES) and ISCA. She is also the Executive Committee Member of the India chapter of APAA.
Neeti is Governing Board Member of Zonal Technology Management and Business Planning and Development Unit, IARI (Indian Agricultural research Institute) and was a member of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Committee for Developing Guidelines for IP Management and Commercialization of Technologies. Prior to joining Anand and Anand in 2005, Neeti worked as Research Scientist in TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) and TIFAC (Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council) and she got registered an Indian Patent Agent while working at the Patent Facilitating Centre.
Neeti actively represents Anand and Anand in national and international conferences. Neeti has been speaker in workshops and seminars and has written several articles in the area of Intellectual Property. She is also a guest faculty in various university courses for their IP modules and is keen is spreading awareness in all issues related to IP.
Dr. Neeti regularly contributes articles to various publications and leading law journals and is a regular speaker at various forums. She was actively involved in first Indian Agrobiodiversity congress (IAC) held in 2016 that was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
