M.S. Bharath and Manish Biala were invited to address customs officials about IP Enforcement – Best Practices.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Indian Intellectual Property Office had recently organised an ‘Interactive Session with Custom Officials On IPR Enforcement – Best Practices’, inviting industry and legal experts to talk about the nuances of enforcing IP rights in the real world.

The workshop was opened by S Sridharan, former Chair Chennai Zone, CII, and Dr. Anil Kumar Nigam, Customs.

The sessions covered an overview of all IP rights, counterfeiting and parallel imports, India’s obligations under TRIPS, and the interface between customs legislation and IP rights.
