Archana Shanker and Gitika Suri provide an in-depth look into legal and administrative proceedings for enforcing patent rights against infringers.

In addition to a High Court, the Indian Patent Office Intellectual Property Appellate Board, statutory bodies, have jurisdiction to decide on issues of patent invalidity. Civil courts have exclusive jurisdiction to entertain and decide issues concerning patent infringement. Proceedings therefor are initiated by filing a suit either in the district courts, or in some jurisdictions, before the High Court.
