In a major step towards enforcing copyright protections, Delhi High Court passed the first final decision upholding the right of singers to receive royalty when their repertoire is exploited commercially. Filed by Indian Singers’ Rights Association, the suit heralds efforts to alleviate rampant unauthorised use of copyrighted music in publicly accessible areas.
