The Cell for IPR Promotion and Management organised in association with Kolkata Police a three-day workshop on ‘Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in India’, providing practical know-how for police officers in training.

Saif Khan and Manish Biala spoke about copyright and piracy laws in India, the impact of piracy and counterfeiting and the role of the police in countering such illegal activities.

Efforts by CIPAM, formed under the aegis of DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to effect the objectives of the National IPR Policy, have given impetus to building practical awareness of IP rights in law and order agencies, border officials and public prosecutors.
