At the FICCI–ICRIER Conference on SEPs (23rd August 2025), our Managing Partner Mr. Pravin Anand shared his vision on how India can evolve from being a standards adopter to a standards author in the global innovation landscape.

Highlights from his address:

1) SEPs & FRAND: The need for balanced frameworks that protect innovation while ensuring fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory licensing.

2) Judicial Approach: Recognition of SEPs as a special class of cases, faster trials, and greater technical expertise in courts to ensure robust outcomes.

3) Technology Leadership: Strategic investments in 6G, AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, and indigenous technologies to establish “Bharat Standards” for the world.

4) Innovation for All: Taking IP to the grassroots by educating students, startups, and SMEs-empowering the next generation of creators and innovators.

As Mr. Anand emphasized, for Viksit Bharat 2047, India must not only embrace global standards but also lead in setting them shaping the technologies and laws of the future.
