India Business Law Journal’s Indian Law Firm Awards have been presented annually since 2009. The Indian Law Firm Awards 2019 was held recently and we are honoured to be named as Firm of the Year – Intellectual Property Enforcement and Firm of the Year – Intellectual Property Protection.
“Anand and Anand continues to be India’s most highly rated IP firm. Its clients include Philips, which it has represented in a patent infringement matter that was India’s first standard essential patents litigation; and Louis Vuitton Malletier in a counterfeit products matter that morphed into a contempt of court matter. While both are longstanding clients the firm reports that important orders in both cases were made by courts in 2018.
‘We believe Anand and Anand is clearly the leading IP litigation firm in India,’ says Patrik Hammaren, director of patent licensing at Nokia. He is all praise for Managing Partner Pravin Anand, who he says ‘is instrumental for setting up winning processes’, and ‘has built a strong core around him’.
Clients commend several other lawyers including: partner Safir Anand, who it is said has unparalleled knowledge; Shantanu Sahay and Saif Khan, who are described as ‘effective and efficient’; and partners Achuthan Sreekumar, Swati Sharma, Gautam Razdan and Pankaj Pahuja.”
We are also thoroughly pleased that Anand and Anand & Khimani which was formed in 2017 is named the winner in Media and Entertainment. “Anand and Anand & Khimani was formed in 2017 through the merger of Anand and Anand’s Mumbai office and Khimani & Associates, headed by Priyanka Khimani, and has represented several Bollywood professionals. The merged firm is recognized for its expertise in entertainment law.”
