The Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) organised a three-day National Workshop on Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights to take stock of strides made in IP enforcement.

Pravin Anand was invited to join a panel of Rajiv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, DIPP, and Louise Van Greunen, Director, WIPO to discuss IP practices around the world and success stories of IP enforcement.

Rajnath Singh, Minister, Home Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Finance and Corporate Affairs, and Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Home Affairs, set the tone for the workshop.

They called for nurturing creativity and innovation, and recognised commercialisation as being the fruit of labour. Continuing efforts to protect IP and imbue a sense of respect for IP rights were reinforced.

Hosted by CIPAM, under the aegis of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, the three day workshop saw participation from the World Intellectual Property Organisation and senior officials from law and order and customs agencies.
