In the capacity of a knowledge partner, Anand and Anand successfully organized a round-table discussion along with the IndoAmerican Chamber of Commerce, India (IACC) in collaboration with the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) and USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office. The objective of the discussion was to have an overview of and requirements for practicing before the USPTO, Role of the Office of Enrolment and Discipline (OED), an Overview of the Patent Bar Exam, Ethics standards in the U.S., and examples of ethics investigations.

There was also a panel discussion with Indian and U.S. attorneys on best practices in legal education, both formal and informal (e.g., Continued Legal Education Practice), and through IP Professional organizations. The panel also touched upon the Legal issues between Indian and U.S. practices.

Along with Mr Pravin Anand and Dr Neeti Wilson, other speakers at the discussion included Mr Will Covey, Deputy General Counsel and Director for the Office of Enrollment and Discipline (OED) at the USPTO, Mr. John Cabeca, U.S. Intellectual Property counselor for South Asia at USPTO, Mr. James H. Patterson, Founding Principal, Senior Counsel – Patent Attorney, Patterson Thuente IP, Dr. Deepa K Tiku, Partner, K & S Partners, Ms. Malathi Lakshmikumaran – Director, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Attorneys and Mr. Chandrashekhar Rawandale, Director at Symbiosis Law School, Noida. Jaya Negi played a key role in ensuring a successful event.
